The Civil War began at Fort Sumter in South Carolina. Slavery was one of the biggest causes of the Civil War. The amount of cotton that the slaves produced at that time was selling for record prices on the International Market. The entire nation benefited from cotton. Cotton was more than 60% of American exports. In 1860, the government proposed the 13th Amendment to the Constitution that would have protected slavery forever. One of the Top 10 Things we should know about the Civil War is that Great Britain and France were the two of the strongest and most powerful places and armies on the earth at this time, but luckily enough neither of them parted sides to help the others. All the slaves played another big part in the war because they all were running away and joining the Union to help them win, that means millions and millions of black soldiers were getting into this action to stop slavery, while the Confederacy wanted to keep slavery. One of the top 10 things to know for Asa Clark would be the dress code since not a lot of people follow it.

Joesph Goodman

My name is Joesph Goodman and I'm a slave for Henry Larson. I've been working for about 4 years for this guy. He's a real piece of work. Civil War Book

The book is about the life for the soldiers in the Civil War. How the soldiers live in the war. My characters want to win the war. They are going to work their hardest. I'm going to write the story about the soldiers in the war of Fort Sumtter

What motivates people to act?

People act by how they look, how many friends they have, how rich they are. Some people act like there better than others, they try to be funny, try to get attention, and they make fun of kids whose friends with someone that person who is making fun of them doesn't like. Those kinds of people are just losers, and I know two groups of three kids who do just that. Most people are selfish and self-centered since they only care about themselves and not the person next to them! The time I really wanted something was when I was about 11 and I really wanted Guitar Hero for the PS2. I told my parents that I would barely play it even though I loved it so much and was on it all the time. I also told my parents that it'd help for better hand-eye coordination.

Justifed to Fight

Yes there are, for example the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. We are fighting for our freedom against terrorists who want to kill us. You can fight for something without being violent, you can come to an agreement over something that two people want and their arguing/fighting back and forth about who gets it. When you fight peacefully you don't use guns, kill, hurt, or injury people.

Yes, because we can do whatever we want, as long as its not illegal.

3 Changes in Middle School

1) We get to eat whatever lunches we want, and what we want...the school has to bring it.
2) We can say whatever we want without getting in trouble.
3) We get extra resource time.

 Yes we will still be prepared for highschool because this isn't going to effect our learning.

Reflection

I thought it was easy. We talked loud and had a lot of info, facts, and opinions. We opened the class for discussion. Nothing really. I liked it...I hope we do it again with different topics for everyone. Nothing really. Talking in front of the class.

Six Protesters Killed in Syria

On Wednesday there were 6 protesters who were killed in early morning. There was a doctor who was killed, his name was Ali Nassab al-Mahammed...he was trying to rescue others as he was shot and killed one person reported. A person in the mosque was referring to on the phone that soldiers and security forces were just killing...and killing.
